Lexifyd App · Tamil for kids

Kids don’t hate Tamil. They hate boring.

Lexifyd is a gamified Tamil learning app that turns screen time into an adventure. Children learn letters, words and stories through play, with pLexi the parrot along for the ride.

Inside the app

Three ways to learn

Alphabet

Every Tamil letter, one tap away

Children hear each உயிர் and மெய் letter, connect its shape to its sound, and trace it until writing it feels natural. Animations then show how உயிர் and மெய் combine into உயிர்மெய், turning the hardest early rule into a puzzle.

  • Pronunciation for every letter
  • Guided tracing to learn writing
  • உயிர்மெய் formation made visual

Level 1

A 14-lesson journey along the Kaveri

Level 1 follows the Kaveri river from its source, past palaces, dams and waterfalls. Each stop is a lesson on everyday topics such as numbers, colours, animals and farm produce, with stories and cultural nuggets along the way.

  • 14 lessons on an illustrated river map
  • Builds listening, understanding and reading
  • Culture and history woven into every lesson

Games

Play your way to better Tamil

Word games like சொல் அரும்பு, சொல் சதுரம் and சொல் பின்னல் sharpen spelling and vocabulary, alongside the traditional ஆடு புலி ஆட்டம். Daily features, இன்றைய சொல் and தினம் ஒரு ஆத்திசூடி, build a small learning habit every day.

  • Spelling and vocabulary games
  • A new word every day
  • Also playable on the web

Our approach

How Lexifyd makes learning stick

Learn by doing

Rich graphics, audio and interactive exercises replace passive watching. Children explore, tap, trace and try.

Language with a home

Historical nuggets and cultural context sit inside the lessons, so children connect with their heritage, not just memorise words.

Simple Tamil prompts

The app guides children in easy Tamil, helping them think and respond in the language rather than translate.

For parents

Screen time you can feel good about

Lexifyd is built for children first, which means some things are simply off the table.

  • No ads, ever

Nothing interrupts a lesson or tries to sell to your child.

  • No tracking

The app doesn’t track your family, and we never sell what your child learns.

  • Minimal permissions

We ask only for what a feature needs, for example the gallery if your child adds a profile picture.
